Best of Singapore Art 2004 A mobile art gallery with the best Singapore artworks of 2004
General Information We are forming a ‘collection’ of artworks for our mobile art gallery. Entitled Best of Singapore Art 2004, this collection comprises artworks considered by their Singaporean and/or Singapore-based creators to be the best they have created in 2004.
The first location of exhibition will be part of the tickle art series of exhibitions held in CityLink Mall. The works will be displayed in one of the showcases along the exit to Esplanade, a venue with easy access and high human traffic flow. The exhibition will last for a period of two months, from mid-November 2004 to mid-January 2005. Coinciding with the school holidays and the Christmas and New Year festive season, this exhibition will be seen by an estimated figure of 8,000 people.
As with most art galleries, the artworks in Best of Singapore Art 2004 are available for sale. Mail order catalogues will be printed and distributed to the public to publicise the collection and to solicit purchase. The price range of the artworks is deliberately kept affordable for the general public. In addition, a web presence will also be created via the website of The Danger Museum (http://www.dangermuseum.com). This will facilitate international publicity and sales.
