Jendela
The main exhibition space for visual arts within Esplanade is Jendela, a 2159 sq m gallery which features dramatic views of Marina Bay from its second-storey location. Other strategic positions in Esplanade will also be fully utilized to complement this exhibition space.

About the speakers:
Wee Lilin is a young and up-coming filmmaker in Singapore. She worked with Mediacorp for three years after graduated from Brown University in US in 1996 and is now working as an independent TV producer and director. Lilin’s works have been exhibited in many international film festivals. She was awarded the Best Director Award for her short film ‘ Norman On The Air’ in the 1997 Singapore International film Festival and the Special Achievement Award for ‘Another Guy’ in the 1999 Singapore International Film Festival. Recently Lilin has completed a new work ’ Home Maker’ commissioned by The Substation for their Annual Septfest event.
For the talk Lilin would like to share with us her new work ‘ Home Maker’ which is about the life of a housewife. And her two other documentary films on SamSui women in Singapore, which were exhibited in Nokia Singapore Art this year.
Mary-Ann Teo was born and bred in Singapore. Since primary school days, she has been interested in photography but only began to pursue photography seriously during her junior college days. She graduated from The University of Tasmania (Australia) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts and Design majoring in photography. Aside from being a practicing artist, she is also currently lecturing part-time on critical theories in photography at LaSalle-SIA College of the Arts.
Mary-Ann will be talking about some of her previous works and what she is looking at currently.
