As Modernity begins to enter the heart of Myanmar, it remains to be seen whether such seemingly timeless scenes will endure the test of time, or disappear - time and tide wait for no man. The error hope drawings
Solo Exhibition by Ian Woo
The error hope drawings are a set of intricate works on paper based on the use of pattern and text. The initial idea of these works grew out of the artist’s realisation and fascination with the contradictory, yet appealingly anticipated relationship of the two meanings of the words, error and hope. The works in this exhibition brings together the many possible and impossible relationships between observation and meaning.
Opens Wednesday 26 February 2003 exhibition continues till Saturday 15 March 2003

The Angkatan Pelukis Aneka Daya (Association of Artists of Various Resources), better known as APAD, was founded on 29 July 1962.
The association's aims are: a) To encourage its members in the promotion of their artistic talents in the field of painting. b) To popularize the art of painting.
Activities APAD organizes activities annually such as art exhibitions, art classes, art courses and seminars.
Art Exhibitions The "CONTEMPORARY" series of art exhibitions showcases art pieces by members and invited artists. This exhibition features invited artists (both local and foreign) to foster greater friendship and goodwill among fellow artists.
There is also the "ACTION" series of art exhibitions (first introduced in 1990). It provides an opportunity for 'young' members (especially those between 16 to 40 years of age) to present their latest selected works. In many ways, this exhibition encourages the youngsters to be creative and productive.
The association also holds special art shows in conjunction with the association's anniversary or with events such as the Cultural Month. Some of these past events have been organized in collaboration with other organizations.
Childrens' Art Exhibition The spectrum of activities encompass Childrens' Art Exhibition, named "TUNAS", tailored and staged for young art tyros. Since 1977, the association has organized ten "TUNAS" exhibitions.
The exhibition has helped develop the artistic abilities of the young.
Art Classes & Courses The association conducts art classes that has been initiated in 1964. These classes are held in rented classrooms on Saturdays from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The art sessions cater mainly for children between the age of 5 to 12 years. Secondary school students and interested adults may participate. The session is held at Beng Wan Primary School at Upper Serangoon Road.
Besides fine art, the association also conducts batik painting and graphic design courses. These courses are popular among parents and adults.
The annual 'Art Outing & Family Day' informs the public of our programs.
Other Activities The association organizes activities that promotes the artistic development of its members.
