STOPOVER makes available a platform for the meeting of performance art practices by Japanese and Singaporean artists. This meeting seeks to achieve a positive reception and discourse in Singapore.

For the first time, 10 Japanese performance artists from NIPAF (Nippon International Performance Art Festival) will present their works in Singapore. Mr. Seiji Shimoda, Director of NIPAF, has recently organized the 12th Nippon International Performance Art Festival (http://www.avis.ne.jp/~nipaf/), touring four major cities in Japan. He has created many performance art networks in Asia and initiated many performance art festival in Asia, example, PIPAF (Philippines International Performance Art Festival, JIPAF (Jakarta International Performance Art Festival) and TIPAF (Taiwan International Performance Festival) just to name a few.

From Singapore, we have invited 10 established and new faces to make live presentation in STOPOVER. I believe that an event like this will help to increase international cultural exchange and understanding, as well as being an accentuation of our artistic practice, research and development.
