Swing at SAM
By Lindy Hop Ensemble

Hit the dance floor on Fridays as Swing @ SAM presents Lindy Hop Ensemble¹s selection of hot moves and cool grooves from July to September. Get ready for more of your favourite dances the Lindy Hop, Charleston and Swing. Add to your vocabulary of steps and learn essential lead and follow tricks!

Come learn the Lindy Hop at our FREE dance workshop on 16 July. Celebrate HeritageFest 04 in SAM with the dance that blends African, European and Asian cultures. As a special treat, LHE will present an exclusive sneak peek of their upcoming production ŒSwing Stew, Asian Brew!¹ Don¹t miss out on the fun and excitement!

The Lindy Hop Ensemble with its signature acrobatic moves and infectious energy is the first Singapore dance group to perform in New York City at the Lincoln Center and also at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Their seventh full-length production ŒSwing Stew, Asian Brew!¹, co-presented with the YMCA of Singapore, takes the stage on 15 August 2004, at ACS (Barker Road) Concert Hall. Swing by www.flystep.com for more details!

Each session starts with a 45-minute basic workshop packed with easy, stylish moves for swing novices. A 45-minute intermediate workshop follows, with jazzed-up fancy variations for seasoned swingsters. All are invited to hit the dance floor after the workshops.

Date: 16 July 04, Friday (FREE Dance Workshop + Special LHE performance!)
Time: 7.00pm - 9.00pm
