NON_SANDS is a 24-hour land & environmental art exhibition by 10 Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, BA (Hons) Fine Art: Painting and Drawing programme students.
This show opens on Wednesday 19 Nov 2003, 7pm
and closes on Thursday 20 Nov 2003, 7pm

Human beings have artistically engaged with the land since 70,000 years ago but modernization has deceptively detached us from it. This art exhibition attempts to remind people of the significant but nurturing role of the land to mankind and the importance of engaging with it to fully appreciate this role.
This art exhibition will be developed through an exploration of the natural materials, their meanings and their perceived significance in a confined and controlled environment, leading to contemporary discourses on Man over Nature in relation to today's contemporary context of modernization and globalization.
