Organized by Singapore Biennale Secretariat, Encounters 01 is the first of a series of mediated discussions that will allow for interaction between the arts community in Singapore and the Singapore Biennale curatorial team. These exchanges will provide a platform for artists, critics and writers, to vocalize their concerns and raise issues pertinent to the inaugural Singapore Biennale 2006 (SB 2006). Encounters 01 will be hosted by Lee Weng Choy, Artistic Co-Director of The Substation, and will serve as an introduction to Singapore Biennale’s Artistic Director, Fumio Nanjo, who will share his vision about SB2006.
