Disclosure and Disclaimers by SingaporeArt.org and Terms and Conditions of Use of the SingaporeArt.org Portal
1.0 "Singapore Art", "SingaporeArt", "SingaporeArt.org" and "www.singaporeart.org", refer to the same organizational entity.
2.0 SingaporeArt.org is a non-profit establishment that seeks to archive materials relating to the practice of visual arts by Singaporean artists, and the practice of visual arts by foreign artists in Singapore. 2.1 Traditionally, in Singapore, visual arts include Western painting, Chinese ink and finger painting and calligraphy, seal carving, batik, ceramics and pottery, and sculpture and installations. 2.2 The definition of visual arts shall be interpreted in the widest context, as visual arts is a rapidly evolving multi-disciplinary encompassing field that may include the elements of mixed media, multi media, digital media, photography, theatre, video and film, writing, dance and performance, and music - visual arts may sometimes be difficult to distinguish by formal classification from the other artistic elements that have been mentioned. 2.3 The definition of visual arts by SingaporeArt.org include works created by any tools and processes that have been invented or discovered by Man; these tools and processes, which may have their origins in Science and Technology, may not be immediately perceived as artistic elements in their normal daily employment and are sometimes referred to as multi-disciplinary arts, inter-disciplinary arts, new media arts, net arts, biological arts, technology arts, new age arts, inter-media arts, cyber arts, and information arts.
3.0 SingaporeArt.org has been established because it is clear that a significant proportion of published materials on the internet are removed over time, and in many instances, no copies of the original materials remain. 3.1 SingaporeArt.org views its public mission as a historian and a conservationist of the artistic heritage of Singapore, and a promoter of the development of visual arts in Singapore.
4.0 SingaporeArt.org seeks to archive articles in the same spirit as Google, which caches electronic material in its databases, and SingaporeArt.org sometimes presents materials differently in layout. 4.1 SingaporeArt.org is not legally related to Google in any way.
5.0 Although SingaporeArt.org intends to provide accurate and up-to-date information where administratively possible, SingaporeArt.org is not responsible for the factual accuracy of any of the text, graphic and multi-media information that is retrieved from the archive, and is not responsible for any pecuniary or non-pecuniary losses of any nature sustained as a result of reliance on this information.
6.0 SingaporeArt.org is not responsible for the nature of the archived opinions that are presented by various bodies or persons.
7.0 The named inclusion in the listings and text and image representations in the archive of activities, practices, products, and works of any party or organization do not equate to endorsement by SingaporeArt.org. 7.1 SingaporeArt.org is neutral.
8.0 SingaporeArt.org does not claim copyright or ownership of any of the articles, press releases, or image materials that are retrieved from the archive, unless where specifically indicated by SingaporeArt.org.
9.0 SingaporeArt.org is not responsible for the contents of the forum and chat, among other features, of the web community area of SingaporeArt.org, whether it may be hosted by Delphi Forums, or by other entities.
10.0 SingaporeArt.org claims copyright for the unique collation of listings and the description of the listings under the separate categories of SingaporeArt.org, the organizational brand identity of Singapore Art, and the portal and administrative processes of SingaporeArt.org which are content independent.
11.0 SingaporeArt.org lists hyperlinks that connect to other websites. 11.1 SingaporeArt.org is not responsible for the content on other websites that are accessed when a visitor clicks on the hyperlinks.
12.0 Because of the vast amount of information that is archived by SingaporeArt.org, the non-profit nature of SingaporeArt.org, and the commercial cost of administration, SingaporeArt.org is unable to comprehensively and formally request for archival or reproduction rights of its archived materials, but SingaporeArt.org will remove any material on request. 12.1 Where deemed administratively and procedurally possible by SingaporeArt.org, SingaporeArt.org has been formally and informally requesting for archival or reproduction rights from respective parties.
13.0 Because of the vast amount of information that is archived by SingaporeArt.org, the non-profit nature of SingaporeArt.org, and the commercial cost of administration, SingaporeArt.org is unable to formally and comprehensively request for permission to hyperlink to other websites, but SingaporeArt.org will remove any hyperlinks on request by website operators.
14.0 SingaporeArt.org is not legally related to any websites that serve as a hyperlink conduit to SingaporeArt.org. 14.2 SingaporeArt.org is not legally related to other websites that are hosted in the server account as SingaporeArt.org. 14.3 SingaporeArt.org absolves any persons or bodies that have contributed to its existence from any problems that may be faced by SingaporeArt.org.
15.0 In accessing the internet, computing devices run the security risk of hacker attacks and viruses, trojan horses, and worms; it is not impossible that the SingaporeArt.org site be maliciously employed by a hacker with no connection to SingaporeArt.org as an intermediary device to attack the computing device of visitors. 15.1 SingaporeArt.org disclaims liability from losses arising as a result of hacker attacks, and viruses, trojan horses, and worms that may be triggered or enabled by accessing the SingaporeArt.org portal.
16.0 SingaporeArt.org merely archives electronic materials; it is the visitor to SingaporeArt.org who actively requests for information to be delivered and viewed, by clicking links and navigating through the site. 16.1 The final act of viewing is the sole and independent decision of the visitor, and the visitor is alone accountable for his actions, and any problems arising form the viewing of SingaporeArt.org contents.
17.0 Visitors are not permitted to access SingaporeArt.org portal, unless they are in complete agreement with all the preceding terms and conditions that are listed. By continuing to access the site, visitors agree with the terms and conditions of use and discharge SingaporeArt.org from all liabilities.
