Compound Eyes - Contemporary Video Art from China

Earl Lu Gallery, LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts
invites you to see the latest video art from China in

"Compound Eyes - Contemporary Video Art from China"
Held in conjunction with Singapore Arts Festival 2001, this international
touring exhibition includes video installations, web-based cyber-works and
digital documentaries by artists Li Yongbin, Wang Gongxin, Wang Jianwei,
Zhang PeiLi and Zhu Jia - all of whom have exhibited worldwide and
participated in international art biennials, triennials and festivals.

Exploring video as a contemporary visual art form, "Compound Eyes" presents
the current concerns of these artists from China on socio-political and
aesthetic issues of contemporary artistic practice. All five artists will be
giving an Artists' Talk together with guest speaker, Tan Kai Syng from
Singapore, on Friday, 8 June 2001, 9.30am - 12.30pm, at Earl Lu Gallery.

After Singapore, the exhibition will tour to Brisbane and Sydney in
Australia by end 2001 and early 2002; followed by China, Hong Kong and Macao
for the rest of 2002.

"Compound Eyes" is curated by Binghui Huangfu, Director, Earl Lu Gallery.
